Lukashenka Starts Scrambling

His visit to Moscow was a failure.

After spending a couple of days recovering from the disastrous trip—since external pomp and a lavish table cannot be considered a success—Lukashenka has followed a predictable course: scrambling in all directions.

This is why he spoke with Turchyn about Russia. Every living and dead lobbyist has been mobilized to secure cheap oil—below market price—to pull two oil refineries out of losses amounting to hundreds of millions, whether in rubles or dollars. No matter the currency, the picture doesn't improve.

Task number two: securing a loan for anything. A second nuclear power plant, artificial intelligence—the reason doesn’t matter, only the money does. The chief negotiator has admitted his failure and will now attempt to leverage all available connections. On one hand, something might unexpectedly "click," and on the other, he needs someone to blame for his failure.

After Turchin, the discussion will shift to foreign policy. There is an urgent need to assess the room for maneuver, the feasibility of a deal with the U.S., and the possibility of at least tactical exchanges with Europe. Therefore, everything available will be put into play under the slogan: "Save us, the Russians are pressuring and stripping us of sovereignty."
