Homel Region Enterprises Show Record Low Profitability

The National Statistical Committee of Belarus named the profitability of enterprises in the Homel region in January 2025. There have never been such low values — the 2024 anti-record has been updated, Flagstaff noted.

According to official data from Belstat on the financial results of organizations in the Homel region, the profitability of sold products, goods, works, services for January 2025 amounted to 3.9%, and the profitability of sales — 3.4%. This is the lowest figure for the entire observation period.

Accounts receivable as of February 1 amounted to 9.8 billion rubles, including overdue — 1.5 billion rubles, or 15.6% of the total accounts receivable.

Accounts payable reached 12 billion rubles, including overdue — 2.4 billion rubles, or 20% of the total.

The situation in the country as a whole looks slightly better. In January 2025, the profitability of sold products, goods, works, services by Belarusian organizations amounted to 7.2%, and the profitability of sales was 6%.

At the same time, some regions performed even worse than Homel region. For example, in the Vitsebsk region in January, the profitability of sold products, goods, works, services dropped to 0.4%, and the profitability of sales — to 0.3%.

Apparently, such low figures are associated with a drop in profits of oil refineries in two regions — Mazyr and Navapolatsk.
