The Belarusian dictator turned out to be a more important guest for the Kremlin chief.

The special representative of the US President for the Middle East Steve Whitkoff had to wait eight hours for a meeting with the head of the Kremlin Vladimir Putin. This is reported by Sky News.

Whitkoff arrived in Moscow in the afternoon of 13 March to hand Putin the US proposal for a 30-day ceasefire, to which Kyiv had previously agreed, the channel notes. Donald Trump's special envoy then had to wait until the end of the meeting between Putin and Lukashenka, who arrived in the Russian capital the same day.

‘He was idle for at least eight hours before he was summoned to the Kremlin,’ Sky News claims.

Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov said Trump's special envoy would be called to the Kremlin after receiving a ‘signal’ from Putin.
